God, you were not content for me to dwell in your household as a slave, but yearned instead to love me as your child. So you sent Jesus from the heights of heaven down to the depths of earth. You allowed him to lower himself to the position of a slave so that I might be lifted to the position of a child. You removed from me the yoke of slavery and filled me instead with the Spirit of adoption, by which I may cry out to you, “Abba, Father!” just as Jesus did. O Father, how good you are to me!
