Crestview Church is looking for a warm, enthusiastic person to nurture the beginnings of a strong faith foundation in our youngest children.
This position provides and oversees loving, safe, on-site childcare in the nursery/toddler/preschool rooms on Sunday mornings with the possibility of additional hours for special services as needed.
The Sunday work schedule is typically four (4) hours from 9 AM to 1 PM and includes:
- Greeting families
- Teaching Christ-centered lessions
- Nurturing Children
- Overseeing Volunteers
Sunday mornings end with a period of deep cleaning of toys and touchable surfaces so we can maintain a safe, healthy environment for our children.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- On Sunday mornings, provide on-site childcare in the Nursery/Toddler/Preschool rooms.
This responsibility includes the following:
- Greeting each family as they enter the area, making sure they have followed our safe sign-in procedure.
- Gathering “Visitor Information” for any visiting children, especially the child’s name, parent’s name, emergency contact information, allergy, and medical concerns, and child’s birthdate.
- Keeping accurate attendance each Sunday.
- Overseeing volunteers (when needed) in the Nursery/Toddler/Preschool rooms. This includes encouraging them to interact with children and parents, making suggestions about appropriate childcare, safety, and cleanliness issues, and generally supporting them as volunteers.
- Taking responsibility for rooms, toys, and equipment, and seeing that they are used in an appropriate manner. Keeping areas clean, organized and neatly decorated.
- Providing supplies (wipes, batteries, changing pads, etc.) or requesting these items in writing for Children’s Director, and turning in requisitions for reimbursement to Children’s Director in a timely manner.
- Recruiting and training childcare volunteers and substitutes as needed. (Includes communicating schedule changes with current volunteers.) Informs Children’s Director of new Nursery/Toddler/Preschool volunteers, and gives updated schedule of volunteers to the Director as needed.
- As needed, administrative and program assistance to the Director of Children and Family Ministries.
This responsibility includes the following:
- Preparing and teaching Christ-centered, engaging, hands-on curriculum with resources provided by the director.
- By the 4th of each month, turn in to the Director hours worked for the previous month: the 16th through the end of the month.
- By the 19th of each month, turn in to the Director hours worked for the 1st through 15th of the current month.
- Other duties: as assigned by the Director of Children’s and Family Ministries.
Qualifications:
Experience in working in a childcare or educational setting; CPR/First Aid certification at the time of hire or agrees to obtain certification within 3 months of being hired.
