Family Promise Homeless Ministry

About This Mission:

Family Promise started as a local response to a problem in Union County, New Jersey, and thirty years later, they are a national movement involving more than 200,000 volunteers. 2020 saw more than 177,000 people served struggling with homelessness. Local churches partner with Family Promise to help serve these neighbors physically as well as spiritually. It’s a truly community-based response to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable independence, together.

Three to four times a year, Crestview transforms our Education Wing into a comfortable atmosphere for families in the Family Promise of BC program, providing lodging to children and families who are homeless. They stay a full week, arriving each evening in time for supper, activities and hospitality provided by volunteers. Each family has their own room. Before leaving Crestview each morning for work, school or the FP Day Center, breakfast is provided. Many volunteers are needed to ensure our guests feel welcome!

How To Get Involved:

After a year of loving on our Family Promise families from afar, we are finally able to welcome them back to Crestview! Our first host week of the year is April 10-17th and we couldn’t be more excited! We are looking for meal providers, hosts, kitchen staff and overnight hosts for the week. A pantry and toiletries need list will also go out along with a sign up to get in on some Easter basket making, egg decorating and Easter egg hunt with our family(s), so keep an eye on your inboxes!

Whether you’ve never served with Family Promise or it’s been awhile, WE NEED YOU! Lets give these families a warm Crestview welcome!
