Family Promise Homeless Ministry

About This Mission:

Family Promise started as a local response to a problem in Union County, New Jersey, and thirty years later, they are a national movement involving more than 200,000 volunteers. 2020 saw more than 177,000 people served struggling with homelessness. Local churches partner with Family Promise to help serve these neighbors physically as well as spiritually. It’s a truly community-based response to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable independence, together.

Three to four times a year, Crestview transforms our Education Wing into a comfortable atmosphere for families in the Family Promise of BC program, providing lodging to children and families who are homeless. They stay a full week, arriving each evening in time for supper, activities and hospitality provided by volunteers. Each family has their own room. Before leaving Crestview each morning for work, school or the FP Day Center, breakfast is provided. Many volunteers are needed to ensure our guests feel welcome!

How can you help?

  • Provide a meal for one evening or multiple evenings
  • Stay overnight to ensure a Crestview rep is always on site.
  • Help in the kitchen during evening meal
  •  Visit, pray and play with the children and families in the evenings

We are so thankful for the many volunteers and supporters of this critical ministry. Your efforts have made a tremendous difference in the lives of our neighbors.
