Family Promise Homeless Ministry

About This Mission:

3 – 4 times a year, Crestview transforms our Education Wing into a comfortable atmosphere for families in the Family Promise of BC program, providing lodging to children and families who are homeless. They stay a full week, arriving each evening in time for supper, activities and hospitality provided by volunteers. Each family has their own room. Before leaving Crestview each morning for work, school or the FP Day Center, breakfast is provided. Many volunteers are needed to ensure our guests feel welcome!

How To Get Involved:

Our next host week is August 8th. We always need new volunteers for various types of positions, with and without guest contact. If you have time to spare for this homeless ministry, please contact Cindy Jean, volunteer coordinator (contact info below).

First time to volunteer with Family Promise? No worries! A supervisor is on duty each evening to make sure everything runs smoothly. You can do this! Concerned about COVID? Check out the volunteer descriptions revised with COVID considerations in place…

Family Promise Update (March 2021)

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and donors for supporting our two families from Family Promise in March. We had lots of time to build relationships and give spiritual support! Cindy taught crochet to a little girl, Jordan, Doug and Dave played basketball with Kyland, Kamayah, Kenneth and Rayshawn, Sue decorated Shamrock cookies with them, Janet had a hit with bingo and everyone loved the crafts and games with all the volunteers throughout the week!

Shawna’s family was able to attend worship with us after a pancake breakfast. Praise God! Check out some of the fun pictures we took during our host week.

It continues to be an honor to serve our neighbors with you.
