Children’s Ministry
Let the little children come . . .
Throughout the gospels, Jesus has a real heart for little children and especially for their faith! At Crestview, we share that same heart. Our children’s ministries aren’t merely another babysitting service, but a chance for us to introduce children to Jesus Christ early in life.
We understand that children have different learning styles, so we pour our resources into making the message engaging and fun. Age appropriate games, activities, skits, songs, and videos are all part of the morning for children of all ages. On the first Sunday of each month children in kindergarten through 6th grade are invited into “big church” to learn to worship our great God and to take Communion with our church family. On the other Sundays of the month, kindergarteners – 6th graders begin in their C.R.E.W. (Christians Ready Equipped and Willing) groups right at 9:30. We bring the fullness of our creativity to encourage your children into a life-long journey of inquiry and discovery of God.
Children are our most precious possession. They are also the future leaders of the church. We want to help them grow in God’s grace and, therefore, provide education, fellowship and mission opportunities designed specifically for them. Through loving nurseries, fun and dynamic Sunday morning programming and varied children’s activities we are committed to help them grow into a relationship with Christ.
Sunday Morning in Victory Village
Join us on Sunday mornings in Victory Village, our children’s learning place. Located close to our middle sanctuary and fellowship hall, this is a special space designed just for children ages birth through 6th grade. As you stroll through this village, you will find Paul’s Pets next door to Noah’s Two by Two – the areas where we care for our littlest ones. You will find our older children in the Good Shepherd Theater or in The Daily Bread Café. There’s Philip’s Finish Line, King David’s Music Emporium, Esther’s Imperial Salon, and Sampson’s Snips. Our kindergarten through 3rd graders spend time in Luke’s Library each week. For our West Chester Co-op Nursery School students, we even have a Little Red Schoolhouse!
Sunday Morning Schedule
9:30 Service Schedule
Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (up to age 5) are cared for in our nursery area of Victory Village. The doors open for Paul’s Pets (Room 111) and Noah’s Two by Two (Room 109) at 9AM so you have plenty of time to get little ones settled before heading into worship. These children enjoy Hands-on Bible curriculum each week where they are introduced to Jesus’ love.
Kindergarten through 6th grade children begin in their C.R.E.W. groups in Victory Village where they will be met by loving, committed teachers who lead them through their morning activities. We do invite all K-6th graders to worship and take Communion with their parents on the first Sunday of each month.
Kindergarten through 3rd graders meet in Luke’s Library (Room 101), where they learn from the Dwell curriculum, Imagine. They follow an ongoing journey in God’s story and are introduced to both old and new testament stories.
Grades 4 – 6 meet at 9:30 in Good Shepherd Theater (Room 107). They begin their time together playing games, and participating in a wide variety of activities before delving into their Bibles to learn how God wants us to handle difficult real life, age appropriate situations with Group’s Grapple curriculum.
Service and Mission
Our Crestview Kids learn to serve in a variety of ways. They participate in several mission projects each year as they learn to serve others in this community and those in need who live far away from West Chester as well. We collect money and canned goods for the Souper Bowl of Caring on Super Bowl Sundays, work hard each spring at Matthew 25 Ministries and pack shoe boxes full of gifts for Operation Christmas Child every November just to name a few. At Crestview, we are never too young to learn to serve our great God and His people!
Fellowship
Many of our dads participate in FATHERS every Friday morning to connect with and provide support to one another. Our moms enjoy connecting with other women in the church through Women’s CONNECT, either online or through Bible studies and the IF:Gathering. This provides them a special support system of their own. For more information about either of these groups, please go to the Adult Ministries page. There you can also check out other Adult Ministry Opportunities here at Crestview.
