I Samuel 17
Pray this prayer: Lord, when the soldiers saw a giant, David saw a mere mortal who stood outside of your covenant promises. When the Israelites trembled because a giant defied Israel, David was incensed that he defied the armies of the living God. David experienced the world, not as a mere human activity, but as a stage for your divine drama. His world was shaped not by powerful people with loud voices, but by your presence and promises. Help me, Lord, to see the world as you see it, to hear with your ears and to feel with your heart. May I live each day in the reality of relationship with you, O Living God!
