Turning Points

John 15:5  Christ is the Vine, and God is the Gardener who cares for the branches to make them fruitful.  The fruitful branches are true believers who by their living union with Jesus produce much fruit.  Those who become unproductive will be separated from the Vine.  Fruitful branches are cut back to promote growth, in other words God must sometimes discipline us to strengthen our character and faith.  But branches that don’t bear fruit are cut off at the trunk.

Jeremiah 29:11  God knows the future, and his plans for us are good and full of hope.  As long as God who knows the future provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope.  Even through pain, suffering or hardship, God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.

Philippians 4:6  Imagine never having to worry about anything!  It seems like an impossibility—we all have worries on the job, in our homes, at school.   But Paul’s advice is to turn your worries into prayers.  Do you want to worry less?  Pray more!  Whenever you start to worry, stop and pray.
