Tracie Long

Youth Ministry & Adult Enrichment Leader

Hi, I’m Tracie. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and was brought up in the Lutheran Church. I have always loved the church and would be in the doors every time it opened, even when my parents did not go. I was active in the youth group and other activities around the church, plus was a camp counselor at a large Lutheran camp in Western PA.

I went to college at West Virginia Wesleyan College for a degree in Secondary English Education, but after taking a Shakespeare class, I realized God was leading me in a very different direction. So I changed my major to Christian Education and that changed the whole path of my life. I discovered that there were other careers in the church besides that of Pastor, so I chose an emphasis in Youth Ministry and Outreach Ministry.

I graduated in 2002 and started working for a United Methodist church in Buckhannon WV, working with children and youth. From there I was called to Arkadelphia, Arkansas where I spent seven years working in Children and Adult Ministry for a United Methodist Church. Eventually God led me back to my family and back to West Virginia and into a church in Huntington, West Virginia working with children and youth. Then my whole family moved to the Cincinnati area so I followed. I started working for a company called UMC Food Ministry, where I managed a kitchen. The company focuses on feeding children and can feed up to 5,000 children a day. I loved my time there, but felt God was leading me back to full-time church ministry, so I jumped at the opportunity to serve you here at Crestview Presbyterian. I am excited to get to know you and your youth, and to see what God has planned for us.
